Founder and President
Truly one of the most experienced in her field, Robbin brings a unique blend of medical billing and business management experience to The Valletta Group. Prior to founding Valletta in 2004, Robbin spent 20 years managing the revenue cycle of one of the largest mental health practices in the United States. She has also served for 30 years as a consultant for major businesses in various areas of management, including communication and employee relations.
Having worked with physicians and their staff for decades, Robbin understands that the reasons behind client satisfaction are rarely one-dimensional. While providers typically stress the desire to limit costs and maximize revenue, their interests seldom end there. In an effort to meet providers’ full list of needs, Robbin has shaped Valletta into a company that is committed to delivering complete-cycle billing services, top-notch customer service, and detailed transparency, on top of unparalleled expertise and efficiency.
Robbin has a proven track record of building organizational cultures that are collaborative, knowledge-based, and consistent. Gilbert Johnston, CHBME
Executive Vice President
Gilbert has been with The Valletta Group since 2007, and has played an integral role in several areas of its evolution. Having learned the nuts and bolts of Valletta’s core processes while working as an accounts receivable manager, he moved into the sales department in 2008. His current responsibilities include leading business development, client engagement, and compliance. Since he joined Valletta, the company has grown from operating in a single state to operating throughout the country. Together with the other members of the executive team, he has enjoyed building a reputable company that values accuracy, efficiency, and transparency.
Gilbert spends part of his time outside the office, meeting with existing and prospective clients. He helps existing clients refine their daily billing processes into a more efficient workflow. He frequently works with practice administrators, hospital administrators, and finance departments to facilitate appropriate policies and procedures affecting the revenue cycle. Gilbert also serves as the company compliance manager, and regularly attends seminars to stay up to date on the regulatory requirements of HIPAA.

Cal LaGroue, CHBME
Executive Vice President
Since joining The Valletta Group in 2010, Cal has been a key player in the company’s growth and success. With over 9 years experience in the healthcare industry, Cal uses his impressive knowledge and insight to meet the specific needs of clients. Cal assists in the oversight of business development, client/vendor relations, and general day-to-day operations. Through communication with operational leadership within Valletta, he ensures seamless interaction between clients and personnel.
Cal is committed to being a forward-thinker in the healthcare and revenue cycle industries. To that effort, he is involved with various industry organizations, such as the Healthcare Business Management Association (HBMA), where he serves on the board. The HBMA, like Cal, is committed to staying on the forefront of the continuously evolving medical billing industry. Cal’s work with the HBMA and elsewhere helps ensure the continued success of Valletta and its clients.
Executive Vice President
Christine serves two managerial roles at Valletta. She assists in the day-to-day management of company operations and client accounts. She also serves as the primary manager of Valletta personnel. Christine is highly skilled in recognizing employees’ strengths and utilizing those strengths to achieve each individual’s full potential. This style of management is essential to achieving one of Valletta’s primary missions, which is to consistently bring expertise and efficiency to every step of the medical billing cycle.
With a Masters in Communications Management from The University of Alabama at Birmingham, as well as 10 years of managerial experience at a large psychiatric practice, Christine brings both academic and real-world executive experience to Valletta. Since Christine joined Valletta in 2012, the company has been able to grow significantly, while retaining it’s founding principal of offering meticulous medical billing with unparalleled customer service.

Matt has been with with The Valletta Group for 10 years and has over 13 years of revenue cycle management experience. Matt currently serves Valletta in two capacities. The first is as the Director of Provider Enrollment, where he manages The Valletta Group’s credentialing department. He works directly with clients, insurance enrollment departments, billing platforms, and clearinghouses to ensure Valletta’s providers are always actively enrolled. Matt also serves as the Director of Human Resources. He administers benefits, payroll, procurement, accounts payable, and accounts receivable for Valletta employees.
Before joining Valletta, Matt worked in the billing department of a large practice in the southeastern United States. There he held positions in all areas of the revenue cycle management process, including claim submission, charge entry, payment posting, and provider enrollment. He also served as an administrative assistant to executive senior managers and shareholders. Matt’s experience at Valletta and his previous employer, give him a unique perspective, as someone with extensive insourcing and outsourcing medical billing experience.

Kevin brings more than 10 years of medical billing experience to The Valletta Group. Prior to joining the team in 2014, he managed the revenue cycle for a large psychiatric practice. While Kevin serves several roles at Valletta, he distinguishes himself with his technical skills.
Kevin manages the databases for multiple practice management platforms. This includes administering CPT/diagnosis codes and payer updates, as well as ensuring that Valletta’s users understand how to most effectively utilize each software platform. Kevin also provides technical support to Valletta’s billing staff to decrease downtime and increase efficiency. Finally, he prepares month-end analytical reports and reviews practice patterns to ensure accurate provider reimbursement.
